Printing
Fine art printing for artists
Create. Reproduce. Share.
For more than twenty years we’ve been learning how to reproduce Amanda’s paintings faithfully, print by print, on our own Epson printer. Along the way, other artists started asking whether we could print their work too. So we do.
This is a small, personal printing service for artists and photographers who want good reproductions of their work in modest numbers: enough to sell at a market, stock a shop, or offer prints alongside originals, without ordering a hundred at a time. Open edition or limited edition; that’s your call.
We take on a handful of printing clients at any one time, so you deal with us directly, by phone, email or in the gallery.
Who it’s for
Most of the artists we print for are getting established: selling their first prints, testing which pieces people want, and working out how to make some income from their art. If that’s you, we’d like to help. If you’re further along and want a quiet, careful printer for small runs, you’re welcome too.
How it works
- Build your order below. Choose paper, size and quantity for each image, add packaging if you want it, and send us the order. It arrives as an email with an order reference.
- Send us your files. Use the Send your files button and name each file with your order reference and image title. We’ll confirm what we’ve received.
- We print. We send you a digital proof to check, and a printed proof if you’d like one; then the run, usually within about 7 days of receiving print-ready files.
- Collect or receive. We’ll send a Square invoice when the job is ready; once it’s paid, pick up from the gallery in Hahndorf or we post everything flat.
Minimum order: 5 prints in total, in any mix of sizes and papers.
Papers
We’ve chosen three papers that between them cover most of what artists ask for. All are archival and printed with Epson UltraChrome Pro10 pigment inks on our Epson SureColor P906.
Epson Archival Matte, 192 gsm
A bright white, smooth matte paper with a good weight. The everyday choice: clean colour, sharp detail, and the most affordable option for cards, market prints and larger runs.
Ilford Galerie Mat Cotton Medina, 320 gsm
A heavyweight, smooth cotton paper with no optical brighteners. A natural white, soft matte surface, and excellent image stability. Our choice for paintings and photographs where you want the print to feel like an object in its own right.
Hahnemühle William Turner, 310 gsm
A traditional mould-made cotton watercolour paper with a pronounced felt texture. Ideal for watercolour, gouache and drawing reproductions, where the texture gives depth and a hand-made feel. No optical brighteners; acid- and lignin-free.
(Paper descriptions summarise the makers’ published specifications.)

Packaging
If you’d like your prints ready to sell, we pack each one on an archival white backing board (pH neutral, lignin-free, made from FSC-certified materials) in a crystal-clear BOPP bag that won’t fog or scuff. If you have an artist card or sticker for each print, send it with your files or drop it in, and we’ll include it. We can help design one if you need it; ask.
Preparing your files
- Formats: TIFF, JPEG, PDF or PSD.
- Colour: RGB (sRGB or Adobe RGB). Not CMYK.
- Resolution: 300 dpi at the size you want printed, 8- or 16-bit.
- Size and borders: set your file to the finished print size. If you want a white border, include it in the file; otherwise we print edge to edge. Tell us in the order notes if you’re not sure.
- We print files as received. We don’t edit, colour-correct or change ICC profiles. Before we print, we’ll send you a digital proof (a screen image of your file as it will be printed) at no charge. If you’d like a printed proof to check colour on the actual paper, we’ll print one at the usual price for that size and paper.
- Name your files with your order reference and the image title, for example SGP-2611-4821 Morning Wrens.tif.
Repeat orders: we keep your files on hand, so next time you can just send the order with your image titles.
Why we’re affordable
We’re a small family business; the gallery is our main work and printing for other artists sits alongside it. We only take on a few printing clients at once, so there’s no big-lab overhead, and we’d rather help an artist get started than add a margin.
